About Me After moving from Chicago Illinois in 2012, today Collin Morell is an eleventh grader at Chagrin Falls High School in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Before high school, Morell had never received organized art instruction. Although art fascinated Morell throughout his childhood, his fascination grew into a passion through his high school experiences. As a ninth grader, Morell enrolled and completed his first true artistic studies, taking Drawing 1 and 2. Morell took AP Portfolio Preparation his Sophomore year and AP Drawing his Junior year (2014-2015).
Collin Morell has experimented heavily in various mediums throughout the evolution of his works, as seen in his breadth. A wide range of mediums, from anywhere between charcoal and ink, account for the growth in Morell's artistic strengths. Morell came into his own through his colored pencil and charcoal works. Through colored pencil and charcoal, Morell focused on high intensity sports situations to emphasize love and utter respect for athletics, as presented in his concentration. Collin received notable awards, winning a gold key for "Oceanic Bliss" (pictured above) in 2013, and another gold key at the Chagrin Falls Art Show in 2015 for his charcoal depiction of a football player in the heat of the moment. |
